Omniwheels and Pneumatics
So we are considering using omniwheels for next year's build, and we will use this thread to organize those efforts . Hopefully we can get a working frame during this summer.

Re: Omniwheels and Pneumatics
Check if Brittney has one of the chassis frames or if we need to cannibalize something from the workroom.
Secondly, get on ordering a full set of omniwheels fast so we have time to troubleshoot and perfect it over the summer.
Back with more later.

Re: Omniwheels and Pneumatics
the thread title also says pneumatics...is there an idea for this already or is it just "work with pneumatics" right now?

Re: Omniwheels and Pneumatics
After Kevin returns from ARML, he (along with any other people that want to join) will build multiple systems, i.e. Compressor, storage only, multiple outputs, etc and have it mountable on a simple chassis frame.
Re: Omniwheels and Pneumatics
Basic systems:
System /w compressor on board
Compressor=>storage/psi meter/safety release valve=>solenoid valve=> piston
More junctions can be added to create more low pressure legs for more pistons.
System using pre-compressed tank
Storage tank/ psi meter/ safety release valve=> Automatic switch valve=>solenoid=>piston
Storage tanks can be disconnected, refilled, and reconnected by unscrewing the auto valve from the solenoid.
Automatic switch valve can be releases manually, programmed to, or at a certain psi.
These are layouts and probably not perfect since I'm not sure about the integrity of these parts, but we can get new parts if need be.

WOAHWOAHWOAH. OMNIWHEELS?! we'll definitely need HELLAZZ practice with it before we use it on a competitive bot.

Re: Omniwheels and Pneumatics
oh just a comment, but FIRST is pretty strict about pneumatics. like the psi and having storage tanks on the bot vs a compressor on the bot. you should probably brush up on the FIRST rules- check the game manual from this year.
